Check out our new STORE page to stream music from our previous releases!  You can now download individual songs and/or our projects in their entirety.  For heading over, you’ll see that we put up Abrasive Method (A.M.) Living A Nightmare, Chasing The Dream for free also.

Nightmare has been praised by plenty, and is our finest work to date.  This album got us out of state and opened a lot of gates for us and Five30 Music respectively.  Released in January 2010, Living A Nightmare features production from Detroit’s finest including Apollo Brown, Eddie Logix, D.L. Jones, Skrapz, Uncle Paulie, Shanrock, & Charlie Beans.  The only feature is by our good friend Skrapz.   Head over to the store to listen and download the album!  You can also check out our video for Rescue produced by Apollo Brown here:

MADIO @ THE BERKLEY FRONT SAT. JULY 30th

This show is a benefit to build a school in Nicaragua.  This event was set up by Warren Peace of The Freematics.   With Farenheit 2040 on the tables all evening, performers include our great friends MIDCOAST MOST, Detroit Cydi, Warren Peace, Black Lung, and of course Five30 Music’s MADIO.  This show will also be special because we got our homey Black Lung of Covert Empire/Borgata on the show.

Hailing from Iowa/Chicago, his album, THE ME$$ I MADE debuted at #2 on CMJ’s charts.  He’s constantly touring, and on the grind.  Glad to bring him back to MI so quick.  Big ups to Warren Peace for getting this show together for a good cause.

www.BUILDON.org is the website for more information on the school.

Benjamin Miles & Eddie Logix PLAY IT FORWARD this August

Five30 Music is proud to announce our next release by none other than BENJAMIN MILES & EDDIE LOGIX.  This will be the third release from Five30 Music, and is slated for an August release date.  Entitled Play It Forward, Ben is on the rhymes, and Logix is holding down the beats for the entire project.

Benjamin Miles is most notable as the front man for hip hop band Of Mice & Musicians.  Known for their energetic live show, the band released a self titled album in May of 2010.  Of Mice & Musicians can be found playing all over the city with Detroit’s music elite.  They have an upcoming show at the ILounge inside Clutch Cargos this upcoming Saturday with The Chozen Few & Magnum Opus.   Check the guys out there!  With encouragement from Logix to work on his own material, Miles started to write songs crafted from Logix‘s well rounded beat catalog. An instant chemistry was found in the studio.  The outcome is  Play It Forward; a personal album that is incredibly relatable to people who have had their share of ups and downs.

With his raspy voice, and lyrical prowess, Miles intermingles his tales of love and heartbreak effortlessly with his blue collar topic matter and desire for happiness and freedom.  His honesty and witty wordplay leave the album without features because there is no need.  Benjamin Miles has the floor, and is ready to express himself whole heartedly.

Eddie Logix is a super producer and emcee known for his work in groups Midcoast Most and Progress Report with D.Allie.  Logix has also produced for plenty of Detroit’s finest artists including:  Abrasive Method, Illite, Fes Roc, Danny Brown, Guilty Simpson, Mobil, Metasyons, Madio, Asylum7,  & Pony Boy to name a few.  Scheduled to release 11 projects in 2011, Logix stays working on new music contstanly.   Producing an entire album is nothing new to Logix, but Play It Forward is a step in the alternative direction, and shows his versatility as a producer without abandoning the Motown sound he’s greatly known for.  Logix strongly urged Miles to work on a project, and Play It Forward is nothing short of an amazing album.  Logix hand-picked beats, as well as made custom music for Miles vivid descriptions of life.

Logix production can be heard on his latest release, The Coast Is Clear by Midcoast Most at www.midcoastmost.com

Five30 Music is proud and excited to release Play It Forward; an inspiring album that will leave you thinking, “That’s exactly how I feel.”

Benjamin Miles & Eddie Logix are going to be  previewing some Play It Forward material live Saturday, June 25th at the House of Shamrocks with JP From The HP and United States of Mind(USM).  Swing through and get a sneak peak of the music these two worked so hard to create.

More info to come on the release of Play It Forward coming soon including release party, video, and official release date.  Until then, keep checking into Five30Music.com for details regarding your people.  There will also be some additions to our site including a store to preview our music, and purchase tangible goodies like Tees.

MCM “The Coast Is Clear” 6.11.11 @ The Pike Room

FINALLY!  MIDCOAST MOST will be releasing their sophomore album, The Coast Is Clear, this Saturday at the Pike Room inside The Crofoot.  Emcees Nonsense, J.Walker, & producer/emcee Eddie Logix have been hard at work playing shows relentlessly in Detroit and beyond.  This Saturday, they will be backed by none other than legendary band Gorilla Funk Mob who have backed Detroit hip hop’s elite.  Rumor has it Logix will be banging around on that MPC of his also.

Honestly, MCM is my favorite group still working together in Michigan.  I’ve known these guys for damn near a decade, and these gentlemen are like fine wine;  better with age.  It’s been five years since the release of their debut album Worth The Weight.

I’ve had the pleasure of getting an advance copy of the album and think that it is excellent.  If someone asked me what kind of music do Midcoast Most make, my answer would be “Classic Hip Hop.”

Check out “State Of Emergency” off The Coast Is Clear below:

This album is front to back great.  Get your FREE COPY of The Coast is Clear 6.11.11 @ The Pike Room inside The Crofoot in Downtown Pontiac.

Pre-sale tickets for The Coast Is Clear release party are available at www.midcoastmost.com  They are $5 in advance, $8 at the door.  Other performers include Mobil & I.D., Self Says, & United States of Mind (USM).  DJ Farenheit 2040 spinning the best all night.

It’s been great getting to become such great friends with a talented group of guys such as MCM.  They’re really a pleasure to be around, and are one of the hardest working groups I know.  I’m so excited for people to hear this album after the hiatus they’ve taken from releasing music.  Rumor has it there are a couple more projects lurking around the corner.  Hopefully this means we won’t have to wait half a decade for another album.

Check out the “ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM” series below hosted by none other than Chester Puffington.
